Abstract

India's society has a strict caste structure, which the government has attempted to prevent through numerous legislative measures; yet, it still prevails. The study found that there is a hierarchy among Dalits itself and there is mutual animosity among these individuals, which demonstrates how these Dalit people have mutual prejudice towards one another. Mutual exploitation of Dalits has been seen in different states of north-India by different expressions and ideas. This study delves into the intricate fabric of intra-casteism in North India, shedding light on the multifaceted layers that shape social dynamics within communities. Focusing on the complexities of caste relations, the research explores the historical roots, contemporary manifestations, and impact on individual and collective identities. Through a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, this investigation aims to unravel the nuances of intra-caste dynamics, examining factors such as economic disparities, educational opportunities, and political influences that contribute to the perpetuation of caste-based divisions. By understanding these dynamics, this study seeks to contribute to broader discussions on social cohesion and inclusivity in the region.
