Abstract

Indian philosophy, characterized by its extensive and intricate interweaving of spiritual, ethical, and metaphysical doctrines, has been instrumental in molding the cultural and intellectual framework of India. As the country advances toward the aspirational paradigm of Viksit Bharat (Developed India), the enduring insights of Indian philosophy present a distinctive schema for sustainable development, social cohesion, and principled governance. This article examines the significant impact of Indian philosophical traditions on the modern interpretation of a developed India, underscoring their pertinence in effectively confronting contemporary challenges and fostering holistic advancement. India is envisioned as a nation that is not only economically thriving but also socially inclusive, environmentally sustainable, and culturally dynamic. While advancements in the economic and technological spheres are essential, the core of development resides in the amalgamation of ethical principles, spiritual insights, and a collective sense of responsibility. Indian philosophy, which is deeply entrenched in the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and other venerable texts, offers a holistic worldview that resonates with the objectives of Viksit Bharat. By revisiting these philosophical legacies, India can delineate a trajectory of development that is both forward-looking and firmly anchored in its cultural ethos.
