International Journal of Art, Culture and Literature maintains ethical & conscientious conduct for publication and has clearly illustrated guidelines to achieve them. We have listed below the ethical responsibilities for  the Editors, Peer-reviewers and Authors to abide such standards.

Ethical Responsibilities for Editor-in-Chief:

  • He is expected to be guided by the journal policy and legal requisites for preventing defamation, plagiarism and copyright infringement of submissions. 
  • He should ensure that proper co-ordination is maintained between editors and peer-reviewers during the processing of manuscripts
  • He should deal with the cases of misconduct in an ethical manner.

Ethical Responsibilities for Editors:

  • They should ensure that evaluation of manuscripts is solely based on the quality of the work
  • They should strive to preserve the integrity and confidentiality of the paper.
  • They should adopt processes that encourage accuracy, completeness and clarity of research reporting including technical editing and the use of appropriate guidelines and checklists.
  • They should monitor the performance of peer reviewers to ensure good quality of publication.
  • They should ensure transparency in the paper publication process where people involved in the peer-review process co-ordinate with each other in order to reach sound editorial decisions.
  • They should actively formulate mechanism for authors where they could appeal against editorial decisions.

 Ethical Responsibilities for Peer-Reviewers:

  • They should not reveal any details during or after the peer-review process.
  • They should co-ordinate with the Editors and Editor-in-Chief in making Editorial decisions and be objective and constructive in their reviews and provide feedback that will help the authors to improve their works.
  • They should Notify the Editor immediately about any ethical aspects of the work and alert the editors regarding any misconduct.
  • They should inform immediately after a manuscript is assigned to them, if they are unable to review it within the proposed time frame.

Ethical Responsibilities for Authors:

  • Authors should ensure they have submitted authentic, genuine and original works and the content should be free from any sort of plagiarism.
  • Persons who have contributed for the preparation of the manuscript should be acknowledged and designated as co-authors.
  • Authors should acknowledge the work of others, that has been used or that has provided support/inspiration in their research and this must be appropriately cited/quoted.
  • Authors should provide an accurate account of their work done and source the material of experiments and research results accurately.
  • Authors/contributors must be honest in making claims for the results and conclusions of their research. The manuscript should be free from copyright infringement.
  • Manuscripts depicting studies in which animal trials have been conducted must document that an ethical review board approved the study before it was done.
  • Sources of funding should be duly acknowledged and disclose any conflict of interest to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscripts.
  • Any inaccuracy or significant error in his/her published work should be notified to the Journal Editor and the author should cooperate with the Editor to correct the manuscript.

 Publication Ethics

  • It is to be ensured that the published work conforms to internationally accepted ethical guidelines.
  • Authentic, genuine works are acceptable for publication.
  • Fraudulent works should be retracted, and the retraction should be clearly identifiable to readers and indexing systems.
  • No compromise for intellectual property rights of the authors.

The Case of Misconduct

 The Case of  Misconduct should be dealt with strict action by the editorial office of Apricus Journals after investigating sufficient information and evidence regarding that. They would also seek advice/information from the concerned member of editorial board, in case it is proved that trust has been significantly compromised by authors'  or editorial board member's behaviour or conduct.
